Bolivar, Mo. – Maryville volleyball used a balanced attack to mow down Southwest Baptist in the final road match of the regular season. The Saints cruised to a 25-17, 25-19, 25-19 decision Saturday afternoon. During the contest,
Olivia Klump went over 1,000 digs for her career, becoming the ninth Saint to reach the milestone. Five Maryville players notched at least six kills, and both Saints setters recorded double-doubles.

How it Happened
The Saints jumped out of the gate by scoring four of the first five points of the contest. SBU got as close as 12-11 before
Ella Brinkmann had a kill,
Leslie Longanbach and
Ella Domian worked a block, and a kill by
Ella Domian made it 15-11. After a Bearcat point, the Saints tacked on a 7-0 run to built a double-digit lead. A kill by
Ellie Witthaus ended the set at 25-17.

The second set was tied at 12-12 before back-to-back SBU errors put the Saints up 14-12. Later, Maryville received kills from Brinkmann and Domian, followed by a kill by
Emma Hoing for a 17-13 advantage. The Saints were up 21-18 and closed the set on a 4-1 run, capped by a block by Domian and Longanbach.

The Saints staked the early momentum by tallying the first five points in set three. SBU had two errors and a Brinkmann pushed the edge to 8-2. A
Taylor Reynolds ace capped a 5-1 spree as the Saints went up 16-6. SBU tried to rally late but the Saints closed out the match on a kill by Hoing.
Cami Kohmetscher had 17 assists and a team-high 12 digs, while Reynolds added 14 assists and 10 digs.
