ST. LOUIS – In a clash amongst the conference leaders, the Maryville women's basketball team had its four-game winning streak snapped as Missouri-St. Louis downed the Saints 61-53. A late surge by the Tritons ended Maryville's unbeaten start to league play.
Lindsey Schadewalt led the Saints with 13 points, while
Alicia Burgos added 10 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Down 28-25 at halftime, the Saints erupted for 21 third-quarter points, their best scoring period of the night.
Gracie Gopalan and Schadewalt scored back-to-back to buckets to forge a tie at 34-34.
Bree Shannon and
Madyson Rigdon sank free throws to keep the Saints close.

UMSL built a five-point lead to start the fourth quarter but the Saints answered with six straight.
Annika Pluemer scored on a layup, and Shannon converted two at the line. Schadewalt fed
Alicia Burgos for a layup to give the Saints a 52-51 lead with 4:28 to play. However, the Tritons scored 10 straight points down the stretch to pull away for the win
