KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The freshman year for Sophia Carter of Maryville women's soccer just keeps getting more historic.
 
The Saints' midfielder is now a United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region First Team honoree, adding to her D2CCA All-Midwest Team First Team selection, All-GLVC First Team and GLVC Freshman of the Year accolades from her first year.  
 
Carter was a major part of the historic Saints' 2025 season which saw Maryville reach the NCAA Third Round for the first time in program history. Carter led the saints offensively, tallying 18 points on seven goals and four assists. She was also credited with the final penalty kick score in the Saints PK victory over Cedarville in the NCAA tournament.
