BRANSON, Mo. – The Maryville softball team saw it's second crack as the No. 21-ranked Harding Bisons fall just short in the seventh inning, falling 5-4.
Â
Jenna Kosnoff led the Saints in the batter box, hammering a two-run homer, adding a seventh inning double later in the game.
Â
Chayse Ramey and
Cora Boyle both manned the circle, with Boyle recording four innings of work, giving up only one baserunner.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bisons jumped out early, launching to a 5-0 lead after three innings of action. Walks were once again the Saints downfall as they gave out eight free passes in those innings.
Â
The fifth is where the Saints did their damage, starting it off with singles by
Cailynn Gdowski and
Payton Deakin. After a successful double-steal by the pair,
Emily Corona brough Gdowski home with a double. The Kosnoff bomb left it 5-4 after that innings.
Â
Despite loading the bases in the bottom of the seventh, clutch pitching by the Bisons ended the game 5-4.
