KIRKSVILLE, MO. – Despite a career-high 28 points from
Lucas Burton, the Maryville basketball men's team saw Truman State rally in the second half for a 92-78 win. Burton sank 10-of-17 shots and added seven rebounds.
Luke Williams notched a double-double on 12 points and a career-high 10 rebounds to go along with six assists, while
Davis Walker added 10 points. The Saints built an 11-point lead after intermission before Truman State rallied in the second half with 52 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 30-25 late in the first half, the Saints surged ahead via a 12-2 burst.
Luke Williams knocked down a jumper, and
Lucas Burton scored on a drive. After a Truman bucket,
Davis Walker and Burton scored inside. Another layup by Burton boosted the Saints to a 35-32 lead. Truman went back on top before the Saints closed the first half by scoring six of the final eight points.
Lawrence Brazil III nailed a jumper, and Burton threw down a dunk. A layup by Walker in the waning seconds put the Saints up 43-30 at the break.

The Saints began the second half with the same 6-2 run to stretch out its lead. Williams scored on a drive to open the half, and
Trey Redd sank a pull-up jumper. Two Burton free throws were good for a 49-42 advantage. Back-to-back triples by Redd and Burton pushed the Saints ahead 55-44. Truman came back to take a lead until Redd and Burton converted jumpers for a 59-56 lead with 12 minutes to play. Truman State took the lead back with an 11-0 rum before Burton scored on a layup. Walker sank a wing 3-pointer to pull the Saints to within 73-66 with six minutes to play but Maryville didn't score again for over three minutes as Truman pulled away.
