ST. LOUIS –
Luke Williams led four players in double figures with 22 points but the Maryville men's basketball team fell to Lincoln 89-77 Monday night.
Anthony Holden added 17 points, while
Trey Redd and
Francisco Espinosa had 13 and 11 points, respectively. The Blue Tigers were red-hot from 3-point range and connected on 17 treys.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Holding a 21-19 lead, the Saints went on an 11-2 run to grab a double-digit cushion. Redd had two straight buckets to jump start the run, and Espinosa sank a jumper. After an LU score,
Lucas Burton drilled a triple, and a jumper by Espinosa led to a 32-21 margin. Later, the Saints tallied eight straight to build their largest margin of the day.
Davis Walker splashed in a 3-pointer, Holden scored inside, and Redd connected for deep as the lead ballooned to 44-28. The Saints took a 47-33 lead into halftime.

However, the Blue Tigers opened the second half with 13 straight points to jump back into the contest. Maryville used an 8-3 run to rebuild a 57-52 edge. Williams had a three-point play, and
Lawrence Brazil III sank a turnaround jumper. Espinosa drilled a trey for a 57-52 lead. Lincoln took a lead but Williams sank two free throws to push the Saints back on top 59-58 with 12:37 to go. Lincoln launched a 16-2 spree to take control. The Saints made one late push and cut the gap to single digits after a Holden layup but the rally stalled.
