INDIANAPOLIS – In their third trip to Indianapolis this regular season, the No. 24-ranked Maryville Wrestling team grabbed two dual wins at the Greyhound Duals, hosted by the University of Indianapolis.
 
In total, Maryville went 2-1 with a 32-14 win over No. 6 Grand Valley State and a 48-3 beatdown of Kentucky Wesleyan. Their opening match did not go the Dawgs' way, falling 30-12 to No. 2-ranked Glenville State.
 
 
INS & OUTS
The Saints began their day with a big bout against the No. 2-ranked Glenville State Pioneers. Despite a major by Evan Binder at 133, the Pioneers scored five wins within the first six matches. A 16-0 tech fall by Cole Ritter at 174, his eighth of the year, brought the match closer, but two extra point wins by the Pioneers at 184 and 197 ended the dual. Ryan Herman, No. 2 at 285, started his busy day with a 5-1 win over No. 10 Isaiha Casto.

Looking to shake off a rough match, the Saints faced a familiar foe in the Grand Valley State Lakers, who much like the Pioneers, jumped out early with a tech at 125 and a major at 133. Hudson Hackbarth, getting reps in the lineup ahead of the Greyhound Open, snagged a big pin to fire up the Saints. Dylan Gvillo and Javier Gutierrez worked two wins by decision to bring it to 13-9. After a Lakers' win by tech fall at 165, it was a Saints day from there as Ritter put on a clinic for his second tech fall of the day. Dalton Litzsinger, the reigning GLVC Wrestler of the Week, grabbed a fall early in the second period while Jeremiah Larson won by injury forfeit.
 
The final showdown, with the dual already secured, turned into a rematch of the Midwest Classic finals at No. 2 Herman faced No. 3 Carter Blough. The storyline stayed the same as the Herm Cat came out on top 5-1.

After two incredibly tough duals to start the day, the Saints wrapped up against a battered Kentucky Wesleyan team. A Sam Shafer 15-0 tech fall was epitome of how the dual was about to go as Maryville won nine of ten matches, with three pins, three tech falls and two KWC forfeits.
