LOCKPORT, Ill. – The No. 10-ranked Maryville women's bowling team wrapped up their weekend at the Lewis University hosted Flyer Classic with a ninth-place finish. 
Siyah Sweeny led the Saints individually, finishing 19th out of the field of 132 bowler field. Sweeny averaged 210 in traditional play, including a high game of 235. 
Anna Maxwell, the reigning GLVC Bowler of the Week, was not far behind with her 206 average, landing her in 26th.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Baker action was the highlight of the weekend for the Saints, with a 4-1 Friday starting off the tournament on the right foot. Wins over the host in Lewis and GLVC-compatriot UIndy as well as a victory over No. 8 Sam Houston.
 
The day of Baker was the last continued success in Lockport, Ill. the Saints saw as they went 1-4 in traditional action, the lone win coming over No. 19 Wright State.
 
Entering the final day of competition, Maryville sat as the No. 7-seed, dropping rematch to Sam Houston in their first match. A seven game match against Oklahoma State did not fall the Saints way, sending them to the ninth-place match against Wright State, one they won in five games.
 
UP NEXT
The Saints head down to Jonesboro, Ark. for the Mid-Winter Invitational hosted by Arkansas State. The three-day tournament begins Feb. 14 and concludes Feb. 16.
