QUINCY, ILL.  –
Joel Lucas and
Justin Simonson both recorded hat tricks to guide the No. 9 Maryville men's lacrosse team in a 13-5 victory at Quincy. The Saints scored three straight goals to grab a lead they would not surrender the rest of the way.
Colin Tobias and
Jake Grebe both also finished with three points.
Shea Raeburn won nine faceoffs, while
Andrew Skifstad was a perfect 7-of-7 at the dot.
Dylan Radke finished with eight saves in over three quarters of play in goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Saints stormed ahead by scoring the opening three goals of the contest.
Justin Simonson tallied in the second minute of play for the quick lead.
Joel Lucas scored on a man-up situation, and Simonson followed 27 seconds later for a 3-0 lead at the 8:08 mark. The Hawks scored late in the first but
Colin Tobias answered with a goal just eight seconds into the second quarter for a 4-2 margin.

The Saints took charge by scoring four of the next five.
Eli Backer and
Brenden Bloedel pushed the margin to four but QU pulled one back. Simonson completed his hat trick before
Jake Grebe tallied in the final minute for an 8-3 advantage at the break.

The Hawks scored coming out of halftime before the Saints sealed the win with five straight goals. Lucas fired in back-to-back goals as Maryville pushed its advantage to 10-4.
Connor Kvaal sandwiched a pair of scores around one by
Luke Chorlton for a 13-4 cushion.
