ROLLA, MO. – The Maryville softball team won game one of its series at Missouri S&T before the Miners came back in the second contest.
Isabella Garcia cranked out five RBIs, including a three-run homer, to lead the way in a 7-4 victory. The Miners took game two by a 10-1 count.Â
GAME 1 | MARYVILLE 7, MISSOURI S&T 4
The Miners took a 2-0 lead in the first before the Saints rallied.Â
Emily Corona was hit by a pitch and promptly stole second.
Marley Williamson drew a walk to put two runners aboard. Garcia brought everyone home with a homer to right center to push the Saints ahead 3-2. Missouri S&T tied the game in the fifth but Garcia answered for the Saints.

In the sixth,
Cailynn Gdowski had a bunt single, and Corona later reached on a fielder's choice to put runners at the corners. Corona swiped second base to put two runners in scoring position. Garcia delivered again, this time with a double down the line in left for a 5-3 advantage. Williamson, who earned a free pass earlier, and Garcia came around to score on
Jenna Kosnoff's double to left for a 7-3 lead. Garcia went 2-for-2 with two walks and five RBIs to cap her offensive explosion.
Cora Boyle pitched a complete game to pick up the win in the circle for the Saints.
GAME 2 | MISSOURI S&T 10, MARYVILLE 1
The Miners struck for all the offense they would need with six runs in the bottom of the first. The Saints pulled one run back in the top of the third. Gdowski doubled to lead off the frame and took third on Corona's bunt single. Gdowski came around to score but that would prove to be Maryville's lone tally of the game.Â
