INDIANAPOLIS – The 2025 NCAA Tournament is here and Maryville Bowling has earned a spot at the big dance. The Saints, after winning their second-straight GLVC title, will travel out east to Pittsburgh with a first-round matchup against Arkansas State on their radar.
This marks the third-straight year in the NCAA Tournament for Maryville Bowling, having never missed the tournament under Head Coach
Lauren Russo. Last year, the Saints travelled to Lansing, Mich., starting 1-0 with a win over Nebraska, before falling in two tight matches to end their NCAA run.
COACHES' CORNER
Head Coach
Lauren Russo on the Saints third straight NCAA appearance…
"It's pretty incredible to make it for three years in a row. I feel very grateful that we have been in this position and it shows the girls work ethic and the hard work they've put in. They're deserving of this honor, they deserve to be in this regional. We are the smallest team among those in the regional, but I don't think that will intimidate the girls, we just have to keep building our momentum, keep sticking to the plan and trusting the process."
Russo on her experience in the tournament and how it benefits the Saints…
"I'm a very confident coach, I believe in what I see and I do a lot of trusting myself and I feel that allows the girls to be themselves and to trust what they see… I'm grateful they're abel to learn from [my experience] and keep building on it to see what it takes to become a champion… GO DAWGS"
