ST. LOUIS – Awards have started coming in for Maryville baseball with sophomore pitcher
Braden Smith garnering Second Team All-Region Honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).
Smith was elite for the Saints this season, pitching in 12 games to the tune of a 3.52 ERA, collecting three complete games over 76 & 2/3 innings of work. He tallied 79 strikeouts over the season, walking just 16. He punched out seven or more in seven of his starts, highlighted by a season-high 10 versus Saginaw Valley and a complete nine-inning performance versus Truman.
