ST. LOUIS – Maryville University M1 Hockey has unveiled the 2025–26 ACHA schedule — and it's the most ambitious slate in program history.
The schedule features six high-profile exhibition games, including four matchups against NCAA Division I opponents. The Saints will face Long Island University and Alaska Anchorage twice each, offering a rare opportunity for Maryville players and fans to experience NCAA-caliber competition. Maryville will also return to Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia, continuing its strong international relationship and high-level season long testing.
"These exhibition games are an exciting step as our university continues to evaluate the feasibility of NCAA Division I men's hockey," said
John Hogan, Director of Hockey and Head Coach. "This is us dipping our toes in the water. We have ambitions to compete at the highest level possible, and these games give our players, staff, and school a real sense of what that future could look like."
The remainder of the schedule is loaded with national powerhouse ACHA opponents, including Minot State, Ohio, and Liberty — all of whom qualified for last season's national tournament. Seven of the ten ACHA opponents on the Saints' schedule were among last year's elite qualifying for the national tournament.
The Saints enter this campaign with momentum, coming off their best-ever showing at the national tournament, where they reached the quarterfinals and took eventual champion UNLV to overtime. With a veteran core returning, expectations are sky-high.
The season kicks off on September 17 against local rival McKendree University. The home opener at Maryville University Hockey Center follows on Friday, September 19, with the ever-popular Black Out Game against Midland University. For the full 2025–26 schedule, please click
