ST. LOUIS – The Maryville men's soccer team cruised to its first Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) win of the season, defeating the Southwest Baptist Bearcats 3-1. Sebastin Weitlaner tallied two of the goals while Louis LeBars hammered home one in the first half.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Weitlaner wasted little time asserting himself into the contest, using a pass from Jaksa Vaisc to find the back of the net in the third minute. A SBU response came at the 35th, but just five minutes later, a high-flying header from LeBars regifted the Saints the lead into the break.

With a lead in the final 45, the Saints played smart in the heavy St. Louis heat. Weitlaner eventually broke free for the dagger in the 89th minute, scoring his second of the day, with
Jan Fulnek picking up an assist.
