CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY. – The Maryville men's volleyball team recorded its sixth straight sweep and ninth consecutive triumph with a 3-0 blanking of Thomas More. The Saints moved past TMU 25-12, 25-21, 25-15. Maryville hammered down kills at a season-best .444 clip, the fifth best hitting percentage in program history.
Makai Scott recorded 14 kills and hit .765 to lead the charge. The Saints had 46 kills on 81 swings and only committed 10 errors. The defense limited TMU to only a .095 hitting percentage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Maryville jumped out of the gate by scoring five of the first six points.
Makai Nzioki started the surge, and
Aidan Whitemountain followed with a termination. Scott had back-to-back kills, before
Tristan Benbow notched a kill for a 5-1 lead. TMU rallied to tie the set but the Saints reeled off five straight points and seven-of-eight points for a 13-7 advantage. After a TMU error,
Jake Usher tipped in a kill and Scott followed. The margin ballooned to double digits, and a kill by
AJ Robateau ended the set at 25-12.

The Saints used an 8-0 surge early in set two to take a 10-4 advantage. Maryville tacked on three straight points to extend its advantage. Benbow had a kill, and he teamed with Scott on a block. A TMU error made it 17-9. Maryville led by as many as nine points before TMU chipped away at the deficit. The Saints were up 24-16 but the hosts scored five consecutive points before the Saints won it 25-21.

Maryville was up 11-9 but scored five of the next six points for a 15-10 cushion. Benbow finished one play and Scott had two kills as the Saints stretched out their advantage. Scott started a 5-1 spree, and a kill by
Peter Soczewka made it 20-12. Another 4-1 run drew Maryville to set point, and
Ethan Tran's kill ended the match at 25-15.
