ST. LOUIS – The Maryville baseball team was held off the scoreboard Thursday afternoon, falling 14-0 to Missouri-St. Louis in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) action at Weber Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tritons struck early and never let up, plating runs in five different innings while piling up 17 hits. Maryville, meanwhile, was limited to just three hits and struck out 11 times at the plate.

UMSL jumped ahead in the first inning on a two-run home run and extended the lead to 6-0 through three frames. The Tritons added single runs in the sixth and then broke things open with a seven-run eighth inning to put the game out of reach.

Offensively,
Tim Leark,
Aaris Stolte and
Nick Daugherty accounted for the Saints' three hits, with Leark adding a double. Maryville's best scoring chance came in the eighth inning, putting two runners on before a double play ended the threat.
