KENOSHA, Wis. – Maryville men's soccer dropped its second road game in a row, falling 1-0 to the Parkside Rangers on Thursday.
Battling rainy conditions at Wood Road Field, the Saints recorded 13 shots, including five on goal, but were unable to find the back of the net.
Lukas Molander led Maryville with three shots.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Parkside struck quickly, scoring on its first shot of the day in the second minute. The Rangers continued to apply pressure, challenging Ausgrimur Vidisson in the 10th and 12th minutes, but he saved both attempts.
The Saints began chasing the equalizer and registered their first shot in the 23rd minute, but a lengthy weather delay halted play shortly afterward.
Once conditions improved enough for play to resume, Maryville made a late first-half push with shots from
Enzo Manga Mbassa and Petter Hanssen before the break.
Yayo Mutombo opened the second half with a shot on goal in the 49th minute. Maryville remained aggressive throughout the half, recording 10 shots, but Parkside held on for the win.
