ABOUT MISSOURI-ST. LOUIS
The Tritons have won a share of the West Division of the GLVC with a 12-5 record are 17-8 overall. Troy Long tops UMSL with 16.6 ppg, 73 3-pointers and 74 assists. Joshua McCoy adds 14.5 ppg and has a team-leading 48 steals, while Charlie Woods chips in 10.2 ppg and a team-best 6.8 rpg. UMSL scores 72.4 ppg and gives up 65.4 ppg. The Tritons lead the GLVC in turnover margin at +4.52.
THE 2012 SCHEELS GLVC TOURNAMENT
The Saints have clinched a berth in the 2012 SCHEELS Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Championship. They will play on the road Sunday, Feb. 26, at an opponent and time to be determined. The Saints will be looking to win their first-round game and advance to the quarterfinals which take place March 2-4, at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield, Ill.

Sophomore Asa Toney leads the Saints in scoring (12.0 ppg), steals (36) and assists (70). Junior Gerald Shaw is second on the team with 11.0 ppg and has a team-high 56 3-pointers. Freshman Armon Provo adds 10.4 ppg and is second on the squad with 63 assists. In the last NCAA report (Feb. 19), Maryville is 17thd in the country in 3-point field goals made with 8.8 per game and 23rd in scoring defense at 62.4. Head coach Kevin Carroll is in his second year at Maryville and has compiled a 20-31 overall record.

RECAPPING LAST WEEK
Armon Provo became the first freshman since Jan. 13, 1998, to reach the 30-point barrier when he poured in 30 points as the Saints defeated Illinois Springfield 81-74 last Thursday. Saturday at Quincy, the Saints dropped a defensive struggle 55-44 as Provo topped the team with 14 points.
