Box Score 2 The Maryville Saints split a pair of games against Missouri S&T as the teams ended up splitting the four-game Great Lakes Valley Conference series. The Miners two-hit the Saints to win game one, and the Saints recorded a 5-3 win in game two.
Bob Miller got the first hit of the game for the Saints in the second inning but was stranded on the basepath. The Miners scored the only run they would need in the top of the third. The visitors broke the game open in the sixth inning as they tallied eight runs on seven hits. After

Andrew Naegeli singled in the bottom of the seventh to put two aboard but the Saints were kept off the scoreboard as the Miners posted an 11-0 run.
In game two, the Saints struck for two runs in the bottom of the second. Miller singled and
Colby White walked to put two aboard. After a groundout moved both runners up,
Kyle Kinyon drilled a single up the middle to plate both runners. The Miners pushed across a run in the third to cut the gap to 2-1, but the Saints answered with two more in the bottom of the third. Naegeli walked and took third after a
Sean Murphy sac bunt was misplayed to put runners on second and third. Saints starting pitcher
Tyler Omlid helped himself with an RBI single. The Saints took advantage of another Missouri S&T error as Murphy came around to score for a 4-1 advantage.
The Miners scored a run in the fifth and sixth innings to close to 4-3. Maryville scored a valuable insurance run in the seventh inning. Naegeli walked, took second on a sac bunt by
Kaleb Depew and third on a wild pitch.
Mike Wilkinson had a single to drive in Naegeli to build a 5-3 lead and close out the scoring. Omlid went seven innings and allowed just two earned runs to pick up his second win of the week.
Brett Grempler worked the final two outs of the game to pick up his sixth save of the year.
