In a pulsating game that was nationally televised on CBS Sports Network, the Maryville men's basketball team dropped a narrow 61-58 decision at No. 5 Drury at the O'Reilly Center Saturday in Springfield, Mo. The Saints had a potential go-ahead 3-point just bounce away in the final minute but were unable to snap Drury's 21-game home winning streak.

Armon Provo hit a 3-pointer on Maryville's first possession to put the Saints ahead. Later, an
Asa Toney bucket gave the Saints a 5-3 edge. Still up 9-5,
Melvin Turner hit a 3-pointer and two free throws by
Harrison DuPont pushed the Saints on top 14-5. Maryville held the advantage and were up 25-17 at the 6:18 mark after a
Trae Pemberton 3-pointer. Drury rallied with a 12-5 run to take its first lead of the game. The Saints went the last three minutes of the half without scoring as the Panthers took a 34-27 lead at intermission.

The Panthers went up by 10 before a 6-0 run by the Saints cut the deficit to 37-33. Toney started the run, and after a
Darrin Young Jr. steal and layup, a
Myles Jerrett layup closed the burst. Drury still led 41-35 before the Saints stormed back with eight unanswered points. Provo drained another trey, and Toney followed with a 3-point play to tie the game. Toney had a steal and fed Provo for a dunk as the Saints went ahead 43-41 with 13 minutes to go. Maryville still led by one until Pemberton hit a bucket and two free throws for a 52-47 lead at the 8:32 mark.

Drury cut the lead to one but DuPont made a tough drive in the lane for a basket for a 54-51 cushion with 4:54 to play. The Panthers scored four in a row to build a 55-54 lead. DuPont answered with two from the line for a 56-55 Saints lead with 2:09 remaining in the game. However, that would prove to be the last lead for Maryville. After Cameron Adams hit a jumper from the left wing, Jerrett tied the game with one free throw to deadlock the game at 57-57 with 1:40 to play. Ben Fisher hit one free throw to put Drury ahead. With 49 ticks left, Provo had a good look from the left corner for a 3-pointer but his high-arcing shot was just long. Kameron Bundy scored for the Panthers for a 60-57 lead with 16.6 seconds to play. The Saints had one more attempt to tie the game but misfired. Drury was fouled but missed both from the line. The Panthers fouled the Saints with 2.2 ticks left. Jerrett hit the first free throw but Drury got the ball and sealed the win with one free throw.

Pemberton finished with 16 points, while Toney had 14 points and tied for the team lead with five rebounds. Provo added 11 points and hit three 3-pointers. Kameron Bundy led Drury (16-1, 8-1) with 25 points. The Saints (9-7, 3-5 GLVC) are next in action at home Thursday when they host Rockhurst at Moloney Arena.
