St. Louis - Fueled by a 15-2 run to open the second half, the Maryville men's basketball team stormed to an 89-56 romp over Robert Morris-Peoria in the Saints lone exhibition game for 2014-15. The Saints scored 60 points in the second half and shot 86.2 percent (25-of-29) in the final 20 minutes in preparation for their season opener next Friday, Nov. 14, at Trevecca Nazarene.

To open the second half,
Max Mischkulnig grabbed a rebound and fed
Armon Provo for a transition layup to start an 8-0 run.
Trae Pemberton scored back-to-back fastbreak baskets, and a short Mischkulnig jumper pushed the Saints ahead 37-29. After the Eagles hit a bucket, Pemberton drained a long 3-pointer, and Provo threw down a dunk and had another layup to give Maryville a 44-31 edge. Robert Morris-Peoria converted a layup but Provo answered with a trey.
Josh Montague completed a three-point play to give the Saints a 50-33 lead at the 13:30 mark. Mischkulnig scored inside for Maryville's first 20-point lead, and the Saints extended the margin to as much as 35 and eased to the win.

The Saints put five players in double figures in scoring. Montague hit all eight of his shots from the field and finished with 18 points, four points and four rebounds. Provo added 17 points, while Damyan Stoyanov added 11. Pemberton and
Evan Booker, who had four blocks, finished with 10 points apiece. Mischkulnig grabbed eight rebounds to top the Saints. Myles Coleman led Robert Morris-Peoria with 19 points. The Saints finished the game shooting 68.5 percent (37-of-54) from the field.
