Junior forward Alex Hillyer recorded a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Maryville women's basketball team to an 87-31 victory over Metropolitan University of Puerto Rico Thursday afternoon. The game was the first of three straight for the Saints in Puerto Rico.
 
Hillyer set her career high in rebounds en route to her first double-double. Danie Shafer hit 7-of-10 shots from the field as she recorded a career-high 15 points. Rita Flynn tied Hillyer for rebounding honors as she also grabbed 12 boards. Jade Rogers, making her Saints debut, finished with eight points and six rebounds. Ali Ringering topped the team with five rebounds. The Saints shot 50 percent from the field (33-of-66) and hauled down 70 rebounds.
 
The Saints are slated to play the University of Puerto Rico – Rio Piedras Friday, at 3 p.m. (CT) in their second game of the trip.
