Box Score 2 St. Louis - The Maryville softball team scored seven runs in both games of a doubleheader with Lindenwood but only ended up with a split. The visiting Lions won a slugfest 9-7 in game one before the Saints took the second half of the twinbill with a 7-1 victory.

After the Lions scored one run in the top of the first, the Saints jumped ahead on a three-run homer by
Nicole Taylor. Lindenwood tied the contest in the third before Maryville retook the lead 4-3 in the fourth on a solo home run by
Shelby Steinkamp.
Karlie Twisselman doubled in two more scores as the Saints extended their margin to 6-3. Lindenwood got those two runs back in the top of the fifth before the Saints received their second solo blast of the game, this time from
Ashley Marks. However, Lindenwood scored four runs in the sixth and kept Maryville off the scoreboard the last two innings.

Lindenwood again scored in its first at bat before Maryville tied the game in the bottom of the first on a
Kelsey Kapitzke sac fly to score Steinkamp who had doubled to start the inning.
Sarah Goodman singled in Marks for a 2-1 Maryville advantage as the Saints took the lead for good. Twisselman plated two more scores and a 4-1 cushion.
Alex Flasch smashed a two-run double in the fourth, and
Danni Wydra's RBI single in the sixth inning closed out the scoring.
Danielle Williams allowed just the one run to pick the win for the Saints.
