Luke Gilsinger tacked on a brace as the Maryville men's soccer team cruised to a 3-0 road victory at McKendree Sunday afternoon in Lebanon, Ill. Saints goalie
Christian Kjaersgaard faced a barrage of 28 Bearcat shots and made 11 saves to post his sixth clean sheet of the season. The men's team has aready set a record for wins as a Division II program with six victories this year.

Nate Alonzo slotted a ball up to Ptacek who found the back of the net for his third goal of the season. Gilsinger then took over for the Saints offense as he tallied twice in just over four minutes to close out the scoring. He finished in the 36th minute to push the Maryville margin to two. Gilsinger struck again five minutes before half time as he collected a pass from
Landon Paul and fired home a shot for a 3-0 cushion. The Saints scored three goals in a half for the first time in almost exactly a year as the last time was when Maryville tallied three times in the first half at Saint Joseph's Oct. 17, 2014.
After both teams finished the first half with seven shots apiece, the Bearcats pushed forward in an attempt to crawl back into the game. McKendree launched 21 shots in the second half but Kjaersgaard stood tall and made seven saves after halftime to preserve the shutout.
The Saints improve to 6-7-2 overall, 4-6-2 in the GLVC. McKendree dips to 5-8 overall, 5-7 in the league. Maryville returns home to host Southern Indiana Friday afternoon.
