Sophomore Alex Wolf recorded a career-high 18 points but was unable to help the Maryville women's basketball team drop a 78-72 overtime decision to Truman State on Senior Day for the Saints. Maryville scored the final eight points of regulation to force the extra session before the Bulldogs prevailed.

The Saints shot 55.6 percent in the first half but Truman still took a 37-32 lead into halftime. Shelby Miller scored on the first possession of the second half. After a Truman hoop, senior Alissa Oney drilled a 3-pointer in transition to pull the Saints to 39-37 in the first minute. Truman answered with a 10-1 run to extend its advantage to 49-38. Wolf hit her first 3-pointer of the season, and Carly Frala added a bucket. Two more at the free-throw line from Wolf pulled the Saints to 49-45.

Truman edged back out to a nine point lead but Maryville never let the visitors build a double-digit lead. The Saints were down 66-58 after two TSU free throws with 3:37 remaining but Maryville would close with a flourish on an 8-0 run. Wolf made two free throws, and Ali Ringering hit a wing jumper to pull the Saints to 66-62 with two minutes to play. The Maryville defense made a stand to get the ball back and Flynn sank two free throws. Truman again turned the ball over, and Flynn's layup tied the game at 66-all with 35 seconds left to play in regulation. Both teams missed on their final possessions as the game moved into overtime.

Flynn hit a jumper from the right to give the Saints their first lead 68-66 after intermission but Truman answered with five straight points. Flynn again had the answer off a Frala feed but the Bulldogs again responded with back-to-back buckets for a 75-70 lead in the final minute. Ringering drove the lane for a tough layup to draw Maryville to 75-72 with 29 seconds to play but Truman State made three of four free throws to seal the win.

Wolf hit 6-of-10 shots, including both 3-point field goal attempts, and all four free throws en route to her career best. She also added a team-high eight rebounds. Flynn added 14 points and seven rebounds, while Miller chipped in 12 points. Michalina Tomczak led Truman State (15-9, 9-7 GLVC) 17 points, and Courtney Strait finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

The Saints hit the road Saturday when they travel to Quincy Saturday, Feb. 21.
