In the second-to-last game of the regular season, the Maryville women's basketball team made repeated rallies but eventually dropped an 82-62 game at Quincy Saturday afternoon at Pepsi Arena. The Saints are now 13-13 overall, 7-10 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Maryville closes the season Thursday at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Jade Rogers scored a basket and Ali Ringering knocked down a 3-pointer to hand the Saints a quick 5-0 lead. Quincy tied the game at 7-7 and the teams traded baskets before Ringering's bucket gave the Saints an 11-9 edge. The Hawks pushed back ahead until Alex Hillyer knocked down two free throws for a 13-12 lead. However, that would prove to be the last of the half for Maryville as Quincy grabbed the advantage. Alex Wolf's layup pulled the Saints to 23-21 but the Hawks used a 12-2 burst and took a 43-33 cushion into halftime.

The Saints trailed by 12 until Alissa Oney drilled her third 3-pointer of the game to cut the Hawks lead to single digits at 48-39. Back-to-back hoops pushed Quincy to another double-digit lead. Ringering scored on a jumper, and Wolf's 3-pointer pulled the Saints back to 54-46 with 14 minutes to play. The deficit was still eight points after a Hillyer jumper but the Hawks answered with seven straight points to take their biggest lead of the game. Maryville made one last charge and pulled to 65-55 on a Miller jumper with 9:55 in the game. However, Quincy finally pulled away by using a 9-2 run to seal the win.

Hillyer led the Saints with 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting and made all four free throw attempts. Oney, who had scored eight points the entire season, provided a big lift off the bench with three 3-pointers and finished with 12 points. Kara Gerbus topped Quincy (14-11 overall, 9-8 GLVC) with 24 points. The Saints outshot Quincy from the field but was unable to overcome 11 made 3-pointers by the Hawks.
