Softball Defeats Miles 15-0 but Falls 2-0 to North Alabama

The Maryville softball team earned a split of its final two games at the Charger Chillout to record the first victory of the 2015 season.

The Saints pounded Miles College 15-0 as they scored their most runs since scoring 22 runs against Blackburn April 25, 2006.

In the final game of the tournament, the Saints managed three hits, while North Alabama scratched across two runs in the second for the game's only runs. The Saints put two runners on in both the first and seventh innings but stranded them on the basepaths. With the win, North Alabama remained unbeaten on the season at 7-0.

The Saints are now 1-5 on the season. Maryville is next scheduled to be in action Wednesday, Feb. 18, for its home opener at 2 p.m. against Union University.
