Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 On the opening day of action at the Spring Games in Clermont, Fla., the Maryville softball squad dropped a pair of contests. The Saints fell to Wayne State (Neb.) by a 5-1 and to Minnesota State-Mankato by an 8-3 count.
 
Against Wayne State, the Saints used two doubled and a walk to grab a 1-0 lead. However, the Wildcats answered with two runs in the second, tacked on two additional runs in the fifth inning and closed the scoring with another tally in the sixth.
 
In the Minnesota State-Mankato contest, the Saints scored an unearned run to jump ahead. The Mavericks scored three in the top of the second before Maryville earned one back. Nicole Taylor had an RBI triple to score Krystal Rock. Later, Taylor again had an extra-base hit to plate another run for the Saints.
