2016 GLVC Softball Championship Tournament
The Maryville softball team (36-12, 20-10) makes the program's first appearance the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament April 29-May 1 in East Peoria, Ill. Maryville are the No. 4 seed and begin action Friday, April 29, with a 10 a.m. game against No. 5 seed Truman State on Field B at the EastSide Centre. If the Saints win, they would take on the winner of the #8 William Jewell-#1 Indianapolis game Friday at 4 p.m. If the Saints drop the opener, they play an elimination game against the WJC-UIndy loser at 2 p.m. Friday on Field A.

About the Opponents
Truman State: The Saints and Truman State split a doubleheader April 2, in St. Charles, Mo. The Bulldogs rallied with three runs in the top of the seventh to win game one 4-3, while the Saints recorded a 6-5 win in game two.

Indianapolis: Maryville and Indianapolis each won a game April 16, in St. Charles, Mo. The Saints pushed across three runs to rally for a 3-2 triumph to hand UIndy standout Megan Foley her first loss of the season. The Greyhounds scored four runs in the seventh inning to pull away late in a 7-1 win.

William Jewell: The Saints swept a doubleheader with two walk-off wins March 26 in games that were contested at the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Fields. Maryville won game one 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh when
Krystal Rock scored
Hope Miller with the game-winning hit. Game two was a scoreless duel between
Wendy Macias and Anna Biondo before
Courtney Ferguson's RBI single scored Rock with the winner.

Season Highlights
The Saints have already broken the program record for wins in a season with 36. The previous mark was 31 set by the 2000 team. Maryville has recorded wins over then No. 1 Indianapolis, including breaking UIndy All-American Megan Foley's 30-game winning streak, as well as a triumph over then-No. 6 Missouri-St. Louis.

Wendy Macias has set a single-season record for pitching wins with 20.
Nikki Taylor leads the team with a 2.15 ERA and has 15 victories in the circle.
Taylor has 21 extra-base hits and has drawn 25 walks to lead the team.
Courtney Ferguson carries the top batting average at .384 and has a team-leading 53 hits.
Alex Flasch has nine homers, has driven in a team-high 45 runs and totes a .631 slugging percentage.
Ashley Marks leads the team in runs scored at 33 and is tied with Krystal Rock with 11 stolen bases.
