Wrestling defeats in-state rival Drury 40-6

St. Louis – The No. 3 ranked Maryville University wrestling team won all five of their matches to grab a 40-6 victory over Drury University in a Great Lakes Valley Conference dual Saturday afternoon in Moloney Arena.
 
After a Drury forfeit at 125, Dakota Bauer earned a 5-2 decision to put the Saints ahead 9-0 in the team score after the 133 bout. After a Maryville forfeit at 141, James Krischke came a away with a 9-1 major while after another Drury forfeit, Derrick Swaney won his match 2-0 at 165 to give Maryville a 22-6 advantage.
 
Zeb Wahle took care of business in the 184 bout with an 8-2 decision and then, after a forfeit at 197, Donnell Walker wrapped up the day with a 3-2 decision to complete the match.
 
Maryville returns to the mat Saturday, Feb. 4, as the Saints travel to Indianapolis to take on both Bellarmine and the host Greyhounds of the University of Indianapolis in a pair of GLVC duals. The UIndy match is set for a Noon start while the Saints will wrestle the Knights at 2 p.m.
