Saints and Drury battle to a 0-0 draw

St. Louis – Despite having numerous scoring chances in the second half, the Maryville University men's soccer team could not crack the scoreboard as the Saints and Drury University battled to a 0-0 draw Sunday afternoon at Maryville Field.
 
What Happened – After a scoreless first half, which saw only three shots between the two teams, the Saints began to put offensive pressure on the Panthers. Maryville had three scoring opportunities in the final 20 minutes of regulation, but could not score the game-winning goal.
 
Inside the Numbers – The Saints outshot Drury 14-8 with Joergen Pettersen leading the way with three shots. Christian Kjaersgaard made four saves on the afternoon in earning his sixth shutout of the season.
 
How They Stand – Maryville is now 8-2-2 on the season and 6-2-2 in the GLVC while the Panthers move to 5-5-1 overall and 4-4-1 in the GLVC.
 
Up Next – Maryville hits the road on Friday, Oct. 13, to take on Missouri S&T in a key GLVC match-up. The match is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
