Summary
The Maryville men's basketball team put five players in double figures as the Saints won their third straight game with an 83-82 victory over Cameron University. The contest was the first of the Fairfield Inn Classic hosted by Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo. The Saints have opened a season 3-0 for the first time since 2013-14.
Nolan Berry paced the Saints with a season-best 22 points.

What Happened
The Saints hit their first six shots but Cameron was nearly as good as both offenses were clicking to open the game. Maryville jumped to a 12-4 advantage after
Casey Teson drilled a 3-pointer. Cameron slowly rallied and even took the lead. The first 20 minutes featured 10 lead changes and five ties. Late in the first half, the score was tied at 35-all before the Saints closed with a 9-3 run.
Teehjay Bogan started and ended the burst with 3-pointers, while Teson made one as Maryville took a 44-38 lead into intermission.
The game was tied at 55-55 before Berry scored inside and
Marvin Grant-Clark sank a 3-pointer and added a basket. The Saints took their biggest margin of the game at the 9:02 mark on a Berry bucket. Cameron closed in the final minutes but the Saints made crucial shots to hold on. The Maryville lead as 75-73 until Teson canned a triple. Cameron scored on its next possession but
Grant Sims answered with a jumper for an 80-75 advantage. Cameron tallied again before the Saints sank one free throw. The Maryville lead was 81-80 with 49 seconds left and forced a miss. Bogan grabbed the rebound and sank two free throws with four seconds left to build an 83-80 lead. Cameron added two free throws with one second left for the final margin.
