The Maryville women's basketball team is the No. 8 seed and faces top-seed Drury in the quarterfinals of the 2017 Deaconess Great Lakes Valley Conference championship at Noon Friday, March 3, in Evansville, Ind. The Saints bring a 13-13 record to the quarterfinals after an 8-10 league mark.

The Saints began the tournament as the No. 11 seed but toppled No. 6 Truman State 80-78 on
Alex Wolf's offensive rebound and layup at the buzzer. Â Drury is the No. 1 seed and posted a record of 25-3 overall, 17-1 in the GLVC. DU is ranked No. 8 nationally in NCAA Division II. Drury swept the season series against the Saints, winning 78-50 in Springfield Dec. 3, 2016, and 75-50 in St. Louis Feb. 16.

If the Saints are victorious, they will play in the semifinals Saturday, March 4, at 6 p.m. against the No. 4 Bellarmine-No. 5 Rockhurst winner. The championship game and automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament is on the line Sunday, March 5, in a 3:30 p.m. start.

The other quarterfinals matchups are No. 2 Southern Indiana versus No. 7 Indianapolis and No. 3 Lewis facing No. 6 Missouri-St. Louis.

The GLVC Tournament is being held at the Ford Center in Evansville. General admission tickets are on sale at

All-Tournament passes are $42, while Session Flex Passes are $32, allowing you access to any two of the first six sessions, excluding Sunday's finals. Single-session tickets are $18 for adults and $8 for students 6 to 17 in age, while children ages 5 and under are admitted free of charge, but must be accompanied by an adult.
