St. Louis – The Maryville University men's soccer team scored a goal late in the first half and added an insurance goal late in the game to grab a 2-0 victory over Southern Indiana at Maryville Field Sunday afternoon. The team's 4-0-0 record is the best start since the 1997 team opened the season with a 4-0 mark.

What Happened – After the two teams played in a defensive battle for the first 40 minutes of action,
Diego Coy scored his first career goal as a Saint when he found the back of the net in the 41
st minute to give Maryville a 1-0 lead. The Saints received an insurance goal in the 78
th minute as
Helgi Jonsson scored his first goal of the year after receiving a pass from
Bill Stimac on the left wing to give Maryville a 2-0 advantage.
Christian Kjaersgaard had four saves en route to his third shutout of the year.

Inside the Numbers – The Saints had a season-high 19 shots on the afternoon.
