Summary
The Maryville volleyball team came up with more digs than Wisconsin-Parkside but the visiting Rangers outhit the Saints in taking a 3-0 decision Friday night. Set scores were 25-18, 25-20, 26-24. The Saints also committed fewer errors than the visitors.

What Happened
In the opening set, the Saints used a 3-1 run to jump ahead 10-9 but that would be their final edge. The Rangers answered with seven straight points to eventually take set one. UW-Parkside scored the first four points of the second set.
Cassidy Arndt had a kill and an ace as the Saints scored three straight. A UWP hitting error pulled Maryville to 4-3 but the Rangers tallied three in-a-row and did not give up the edge. The Saints got as close as 14-12 on the heels of a 4-0 burst.
Ashley Selman had a kill, and she and Arndt combined on a block. After a UWP hitting error, Selman and
Taylor Koss had a block to draw Maryville to 14-12. The Saints cut their deficit to two points two more times but never drew closer.

The final set saw 13 ties and eight lead changes as the teams battled the entire way. UWP was up 17-16 until a kill by
Natalia Pia tied the set. She and Selman had a block and a Ranger hitting error gave Maryville a 19-17 margin. After a 4-0 run by UWP, the Saints answered with their own 4-0 run. Selman had two kills and a block in the sequence. The Rangers went up 24-23 but a service error tied the set. However, a UWP kill and a Maryville miscue ended the match.
