Summary
Allison Lakin notched a double-double with 14 kills and 14 digs but the Maryville volleyball team fell in three sets to visiting Indianapolis Saturday afternoon. The Greyhounds won 25-19, 25-22, 25-17.
Ashley Selman tied her career high with eight blocks on the day.

What Happened
The Saints were down 17-10 in the first set before making a comeback. Lakin put down a kill, and
Makayla Campbell served up an ace. Selman and
Taylor Koss had a block, and a UIndy hitting error pulled the Saints to 17-14. A Koss kill started a 3-0 run but Maryville never got closer than four points.

The Saints roared out to a 4-0 lead in the second led. Lakin's kill began the run, and after a UIndy miscue, Selman and Koss had another block. A Selman kill was good for the four-point edge. The Greyhounds got as close as 6-5 before another 3-0 burst handed the Saints a 9-5 cushion. Lakin had a kill and an ace and UIndy's attack error ended the run. The Greyhounds tied the set at 14-14 but the Saints again answered with four consecutive points. Lakin and
Natalia Pia smashed down back-to-back kills, and two errors by UIndy pushed the Saints ahead 17-14. Maryville was still up 19-16 but the Greyhounds rallied with six straight points and took the set.

In the third set, the visitors jumped to a 6-1 lead. Two straight UIndy errors started a 5-0 Maryville run, highlighted by two blocks from Lakin and Selman. The Greyhounds scored the next point. Lakin notched consecutive kills for an 8-7 lead. The teams traded being up front until the Greyhounds built a 17-14 advantage. The Saints were still only down 21-17 before Indianapolis closed the match with four consecutive points.
