What Happened
The Tritons took a 41-33 edge at the break but the Saints started the second half on a 13-2 outburst to jump back into the game. After two Maryville free throws, Robin Thompson grabbed an offensive rebound and threw down a dunk. UMSL scored but Thompson powered up inside for a bucket and Nolan Berry knocked down a 3-pointer from the top of the key. Thompson hammered down a dunk, and after a steal, Teehjay Bogan scored on a breakaway dunk to push the Saints ahead for the first time at 46-45 with 12:22 to play.

The game stayed close as the teams traded the lead eight times over the next six minutes. UMSL went back up by three before Teson and Berry both sank two free throws apiece for a 56-55 Maryville lead with seven minutes remaining. UMSL retook the lead at 63-58 before the Saints answered with a 7-0 run. Berry rattled in a 3-pointer, and Thompson's dunk tied the game. Teson swished in a wing jumper to put the Saints on top 65-63 with 4:03 to go.

The game was tied at 67-67 before UMSL's Elijah Watson scored in the lane with 41.8 seconds to go. The Saints made one free throw to trim the UMSL lead to 69-68. The Tritons missed the front end of a one-and-one to set up the dramatic finish. After swinging the ball round, Teson pulled up from about 14 feet and swished the game-winning basket.
