Summary
The Maryville men's basketball team began the game with a 13-0 burst to overwhelm Quincy en route to a 83-43 victory. What Happened
Nolan Berry scored on the first possession of the game, and Robin Thompson powered up for a hoop on the second. Forrester Sims sank a jumper, and Berry finished a three-point play. Teehjay Bogan converted a layup, and Berry's layup was good for a 13-0 lead. Quincy finally scored at the 13:33 mark but Jimmy Barton splashed in a 3-pointer, and another Berry three-point play was good for a 19-2 lead. The Saints kept Quincy in single figures until the 7:07 mark of the first half as the Saints were still leading 30-12. Maryville used a 12-4 run and stretched its edge out. #Casey Teson# drilled a 3-pointer, and Berry hit a layup. Teson converted a layup and a Sims 3-pointer was good for a 42-16 lead. Maryville settled for a 48-21 advantage at halftime.
The Saints used an early 10-2 burst to keep control and first pushed their edge over 30 points at 61-31 on a Bogan 3-pointer. Maryville's cushion reached as much as 39 points when the Saints led 76-37 before the final margin.
