Chalupny Lawson Inducted into the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame

St. Louis – Maryville University's head women's soccer coach Lori Chalupny Lawson was inducted to the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame Thursday evening. The event was held at America's Ballroom at the America's Center in Downtown St. Louis.
 
Chalupny Lawson joined eleven other individuals in the Class of 2018 and many others that received special awards from the group.
 
Chalupny Lawson is in her first year as the head coach for the Saints after being an assistant since 2013. She was a member of the United States Women's National Team which won the 2015 World Cup in Canada. She played in the USA's contest against Colombia during the World Cup and scored a goal in an exhibition game versus New Zealand played at Busch Stadium.

Chalupny Lawson retired from the game as a player in 2016 and finished with 106 caps with the USWNT. Chalupny Lawson, who won a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, most recently played as a midfielder with the Chicago Red Stars of the NWSL.
  
Chalupny Lawson has previous college coaching experience when she was an assistant women's soccer coach at Washington University in St. Louis from 2010-12. A graduate of Nerinx Hall High School in Webster Groves, she was ranked by Soccer America as the No. 2 player in the nation. She was a two-time Parade Magazine High School All-America and twice earned All-State honors for the Markers.
