Saints Baseball Defeated By No. 14 UIndy 11-4

St. Louis –  The Maryville baseball team fell behind early and could not recover as the Saints fell to nationally ranked University of Indianapolis 11-4 Tuesday afternoon at Weber Field. The Greyhounds are ranked 14th in the latest NCBWA rankings.

What Happened:
The Greyhounds opened the scoring in the top of the first with a three-run blast to take an early 3-0 lead, but the Saints cut the lead in the home half of the inning. Lubin then scored on a wild pitch and Schumer came around to score on a throwing error to cut the UIndy lead to 3-2. The Greyhounds added to their lead in the fourth with a pair of runs and then a run in the fifth to extend their lead to 6-2. UIndy added insurance runs in the eighth on a pair of home runs and two more runs in the ninth to push the lead to 11-2.
