Saints Bowlers Advance to the Final Day of the MIAA Championships

Springfield, Mo. – The Maryville women's bowling team advanced to the final day of the Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletics Association Women's Bowling Championships after finishing 2-1 Saturday at the Andy B's Bowling Center in Springfield, Mo.

The Saints opened the tournament with an impressive 4-0 win over the No. 6 seed Lincoln and then upset the No.2 seed in the tournament, Central Missouri, 4-0 to move on to the winner's bracket championship to take on top seeded McKendree.

In an instant classic, the Saints fell behind early to the Bearcats 3-1 before rallying and winning the next two games to force a seventh game in the Baker format matches. The rally fell short as McKendree won the game to move on to championship match tomorrow.

The Saints and Jennies will kick off the action at 9 a.m. with the winner advancing to the championship match against the top seeded McKendree Bearcats at 11 a.m.
