The Maryville men's basketball team has begun practices in preparation for its two-game exhibition trip to Nassau, The Bahamas. The Saints will have daily workouts prior to their Aug. 13 departure on the five-day trip. NCAA rules allow a program to take a foreign tour once every four academic years.
Â
The Saints will face the IBA Elite team Wednesday, Aug. 14, then play the Raw Talent Elite squad Thursday, Aug. 15. Both games will be played at 3 p.m. (ET) in the Sir Kendal Isaacs National Gymnasium. Maryville is the only NCAA Division II team making the trip to the Bahamas, which also features DI squads Georgetown, Memphis and national champion runner-up Texas Tech
Â
The trip will be an opportunity for the Saints to blend in 10 newcomers with their returning players. Junior
Zach Colletta is Maryville's leading returning scorer after averaging 10.1 points per game a year ago, while senior
Dezmond McDaniel scored 6.2 ppg and leads all returners with 42 assists and 16 steals.
