The Maryville women's golf team took eighth place at the Emerald Coast Classic at the Baytowne Golf Club in Destin, Fla. Over the three-day tournament, the Saints improved each day and posted rounds of 332-326-322=980 out of the 13 teams in the field.

Carmen Villaverde led the Saints and grabbed fifth place overall with scores of 73-76-74=223. Her efforts earned her All-Tournament honors with the top-five finish.
Maxine Nesemeier lowered her scores in every round, finished second for Maryville and tied for 32nd overall following rounds of 88-80-79=247.
Mckenna Chapman was third on the squad at 83-83-88=254.
Rachael Kell shot an 81 in the final round and came home with a three-day total of 263, while
Brittany King finished at 265.

Host squad Missouri-St. Louis claimed the overall team championship with a three-round score of 909. UMSL's Emma Thorngren took medalist honors after shooting 217.

The Saints are back on the course this weekend as they play at the Saginaw Valley State's Spring Invitational at Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Ky., March 14-15.
