Pat Evers announced Wednesday the additions of Collin Hopkins and
Drake Salsman to the coaching staff for the upcoming season.
Hopkins joins the Saints after finishing his collegiate baseball career at the University of Indiana. Hopkins began his college career at Volunteer State Community College before playing one season at Western Kentucky University. Hopkins played his final two seasons at Indiana where he earned Academic All-Big Ten honors and was a Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree. His responsibilities with the coaching staff will be working with the Saints catchers and hitters.
Salsman finished his eligibility last season with the Saints, pitching in a variety of roles. In 38.1 inning pitched, Salsman struck out 38 batters to only four walks and finished with a 2-2 record and five saves. Salsman will be assisting with the pitching staff while completing his Master's Degree in Business Administration.
