KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Both Maryville soccer programs remain ranked in the NCAA Regional Polls for the second consecutive week heading into the Great Lakes Valley Conference Semifinals this weekend. The Saints continue to earn votes regionally after the women took down Drury University last week while the men pulled off a second-half comeback against Missouri S&T to stay alive in the bracket.
On the men's side, the Saints remain fourth in the Midwest Super-Region behind Saginaw Valley, Tiffin, and Ashland while staying ahead of GLVC schools Illinois Springfield, Indianapolis, Lewis, and Drury. Maryville heads into a GLVC Semifinals matchup with UIS who ranks fifth in the Midwest.
After a GLVC Quarterfinals win on Sunday, the women moved up from eighth to sixth in the NCAA Women's Midwest Regional Rankings. They currently sit behind first-ranked Grand Valley State, Cedarville, Ashland, McKendree, and Northern Michigan in that order. The Saints have an opportunity to continue climbing the list with a GLVC Semifinals matchup this weekend against McKendree University.
Both GLVC Championship Tournament contests will be played on Friday, Nov. 4. The men will play at the Maryville Soccer Field at 2 p.m. while the women travel to Lebanon, Ill., for a 5 p.m. kickoff at Leemon Field.
