Maryville's ACHA Men's D2 team ended its season this past weekend with a loss to the Iowa State Cyclones. Maryville had qualified for the MACHA conference tournament as the No. 5 seed. After knocking off the fourth-seeded Illinois State Redbirds Friday, the Saints could not skate past the Cyclones, losing by a score of 3-1. 
 
The M2 Saints end the season with a 16-10-3 record. The 2021-22 season marks the first winning season for Maryville's M2 team in program history. Unfortunately, the Saints missed out on continued post season play, falling short of the M2 Regional Tournament by one spot. 
 
Seniors Scout Stalcup and Matt Simoncelli end their careers and graduate this semester as foundational players - being part of the program's inaugural team four seasons ago. They are a part of a special group - a group that has paved the ground for all current and future successes for the Maryville Hockey program.
