The M2 Saints have officially ended regular season play for the 21-22 year. With a regular season record of 15-9-3, this marks the first winning season for the M2 Saints in program history. The past two weekends, Maryville competed against the top two teams in the Men's Division 2 central region. January 21-22, the No. 2 ranked Iowa State Cyclones swept the Saints 7-5 and 10-1. This past weekend, the No. 1 ranked Lindenwood Lions took two games from Maryville winning Saturday 5-0 and Sunday 4-0.

"To be the best, you have to play the best," Hockey Director
John Hogan said. "For our Men's 2 team, the regular season ends a little early with how the division is set up. Because of the added regional tournament for Division 2, an extra weekend needs to be built into the February schedule. While we ended regular season play with a couple losses, they were against teams that will most likely be in the National Tournament. Playing these tough teams to end the regular season will hopefully prepare our guys for a MACHA conference tournament run and a berth to regionals."

The Maryville University Hockey Center will host this year's MACHA Conference Tournament, held over the February 11-13 weekend. The tournament will consist of 15 games amongst all three levels in the MACHA conference (Gold, Silver, and Bronze). In the Gold Men's 2 Division, the Saints will be seeded either fourth or fift going into the tournament and will play at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11. In a single elimination format, the Saints must win three games in three days to be crowned champions. Make sure to come support your M2 Saints next weekend.
