ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Maryville women's soccer tied with Lewis University 1-1 on Friday afternoon.
Elsa Nilson-Hurtig tied the game early in the first half while
Gigi Yurevich made four saves to secure a 1-1 draw.

Run of Play:
- In the fifth minute, Ashlyne Hunt got in behind the defense thanks to a pass from Lexi Gentry, but she was rejected on the shot attempt by reigning Great Lakes Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week Bekah Nielsen.
- Lotte Brands tried another shot at 8:23 but Nielsen slammed the door shut.
- At 10:15, Breanna Culver received a pass in the box and put a shot on that was saved by a sprawling Gigi Yurevich in goal. Melisa Hadzic received the rebound and put it in the open side of the net to take a 1-0 lead.
- Maryville tied it up less than five minutes later when Elsa Nilson-Hurtig received a pass from Hunt, had her first shot blocked, and put the rebound into the low left side of the goal to make it 1-1.
- Still tied 1-1 early in the second half, Yurevich made another save on a low shot from Isabella Vargas at 56:38.
- The Saints had possibly their best scoring chances after the 77th minute when Nika Vemdal had a shot blocked before shots on goal from Lotte Brands and Molly Krispin.
- With under four minutes to play, Reese Capion had an open look at the right side of the goal, but Yurevich made a full-extension diving stop to keep Lewis off the board.
- Maryville had one last corner kick that created havoc in the box with eight seconds remaining, but Nielsen scooped it up to end a 1-1 tie.
