ST. LOUIS – Maryville women's soccer claimed the first Great Lakes Valley Conference Regular Season Championship in program history with a 3-0 win over Upper Iowa University on Sunday afternoon. The Saints celebrated their historic achievement along with their seniors during the final regular season game of 2023.

Run of Play:
- The Saints came out of the gates firing shots, with Sara Lawler, Halle Ezell, Lotte Brands, and Lexi Gentry all getting attempts off in the first 14 minutes.
- Ashlyne Hunt broke through at 17:23 after rifling a ball through the goalkeeper's hands to put Maryville up 1-0.
- Maddie Dickerman followed up less than a minute later with a shot on goal but was denied by Isabelle Wagner.
- Wagner made a total of eight saves in the first half, keeping the Peacocks within striking distance at halftime.
- Ulrika Bredin tallied her third goal of the season in the 53rd minute when she received a pass from Gentry, changed directions in the box, and sent a shot past a diving keeper into the upper-right corner of the goal.
- Gentry added a third goal in the 61st minute after batting a loose free kick from Lotte Brands out of the air and into the net for her sixth of 2023.
- The defense wrapped up the 3-0 victory over the next 29 minutes, earning their fourth consecutive shutout.

- Yurevich and the Saints' defense has registered four straight shutouts. They have gone 439 consecutive minutes without giving up a goal, with the last one allowed in the 11th minute on the road at Lewis University.
- Lexi Gentry led the GLVC in assists this season with eight.
- Maryville led the league in total goals with 41, three ahead of McKendree in second. They also allowed the second-fewest goals in the league with nine.
