INDIANAPOLIS – Maryville men's soccer advanced past McKendree University to the NCAA Quarterfinals after taking penalty kicks 8-7. After a scoreless tie through two overtime periods, the Saints got eight goals in penalty kicks before
Nick Hemann denied the Bearcats' final attempt with a sprawling save to his right.

- At 23:09 Marcus Kalebo rang a shot off the top woodwork, followed soon after by a pair of saved shots from Mason Crew and Clayton Hamler.
- Winchurch came close to scoring for McKendree again in the second half in the 75th minute, but Hemann dove to his left to push it wide enough to hit the post.
- Mutombo had another good scoring chance in the first overtime, but he was stopped again by Herluf to the bottom right.
- The Saints did not allow a single shot attempt in either of the overtime periods, outshooting McKendree 3-0.
- The two teams exchanged goals on the first four attempts of the penalty shootout before the next two missed their chances.
- The next six all hit the net before Herluf made a big save on Maryville's next taker. Herluf then took the potential shootout-winning attempt and sent it high over the goal.
